The CFSP staff supports the Consortium’s research, program and goals. We are based at the University of Chicago.

  • Jennifer Ptak
    Program Director

    Jennifer Ptak oversees the research projects and administrative activities of the Consortium. Previously, she served as the Assistant Director for the Enterprise Initiative, a research program at the University of Chicago focusing on wealth creation and the role of enterprise in alleviating poverty.  Prior to her work at the University she was a Public Finance Analyst with BMO Capital Markets.  Jennifer holds a B.S. in Economics and Management from the University of Dayton and is currently pursuing an A.M. from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration.

  • Cheryl L. Reed
    Communications Director

    Cheryl Reed heads communications strategy and media outreach for CFSP.  Prior to joining the Consortium, she was the director of strategic communication at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She is a former editorial page editor, columnist, books critic and investigative reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times and previously a staff writer at several others newspapers. In addition, she is the author of Unveiled: The Hidden Lives of Nuns, a work of literary nonfiction. Cheryl earned her M.F.A in Creative Writing at Northwestern University, her M.A. in journalism at The Ohio State University and two bachelor’s of journalism degrees in news/editorial writing and photojournalism from  the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
